36 Hour Swim - 2011
After several years of planning the chance to try to swim for a solid 36 hour period seems has become a reality – we start on the 5th August at 8:00 am and finish on Saturday 6th at 8:00 pm, just after the carnival finishes.
Dean Baker, a long time member of the club is attempting the full 36 hours. He has completed a few endurance events now and wanted to try something unique, we looked at 24 hour swims and felt that too many people already try that. That sort of left 36 hours!!
We are raising money for Hastings Voluntary Lifeguards as we need to buy a new rescue boat so that we can continue to provide top class safety cover in Hastings, Bexhill and for local events. The event is taking place in a 'never ending pool' to be situated near the Adventure Golf on Hastings Sea front. We would like to thank both Adventure Golf and Rutherford Pools for their sponsorship in making the event happen.
