We are looking for support in this challenge to raise awareness of our club and of other voluntary lifeguard clubs in 7 Sussex and, of course to raise funds. The funds we raise will be going towards a new rescue boat for next season.
On 14th August Dean Baker is going start to run over 200 miles around East and West Sussex visiting many of the active lifesaving clubs. From the Kent / Sussex boarder he will visit Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Chichester and back – all this in just 3 to 4 days. He is aiming to complete the first 100 miles without stopping, that’s 3½ marathons back to back. During the run a number of members will be running or cycling one or more legs with him. They are all being sponsored to raise funds towards our new rescue boat.
This latest challenge follows the 2008 successful Channel relay swim and in 2009 we successfully completed a one way swim of the 10½ miles of Lake Windermere .
