Being a Pool Lifeguard offers the opportunity to learn a wide range of life skills (including CPR, First aid and rescue techniques) and then put them into practise whilst earning. Whether you want to be a pool lifeguard whilst at college or as a start in leisure it’s full of opportunities.
The RLSS award is recognised around the world so provides the potential to help fund travelling. Working as a pool lifeguard offers varied working hours around other commitments, working within a team and the benefits of working within leisure. The NPLQ is regulated by Ofqual.
NPLQ Course Pre-Requisites:
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must:
During the course you will learn about pool lifeguard theory, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, pool rescue skills and techniques. The course is physically demanding, it will include swimming to set times, lifting simulated ‘casualties’ and diving / surface diving to the deepest part of the pool. The course is divided into three separate modules and at the end of the course the assessment covers all three elements.

The club has a number of very experienced pool lifeguard trainers and a huge amount of pool lifeguarding experience, both as volunteers, employed lifeguards, pool managers and the trainers of trainers. Our trainers are well qualified, skilled, experts in their field with the ability to encourage, inspire and develop future lifeguards.
