Dean Baker and Huw Merriman at the DeLa Warr Pavilion with about 70 young people on 17th June 2022. The Club was asked if a member could provide a Water Safety talk and presentation to the young people to support the MP's wish to see the subject on the National Curriculum. Well done Dean.
Sally-Ann Hart came to visit the club at our base at EHSAA on 3rd August. Sally-Ann had contacted us to ask to meet with Dean Baker, the chair, to talk about our role in water safety, education, safety cover and rescue in the local community.
Sally-Ann showed interest in our roles but also the equipment and cost of purchasing equipment such as rescue boats, lifejackets and drysuits and the required maintenance for all equipment.
Whilst there the club had some younger members taking part in open water training and she engaged with them. Lee Cornelius was one of the open water trainers and Sally-Ann spent some additional time talking to him and Dean about the Channel Swim challenge that they were taking part in later that week.
